Donna Giggey

Donna Kay Giggey, 75, was born in Boulder, Colorado on June 20, 1945 to Russell Addison and Catherine M. (Minici) Timmons. She was their only daughter. She passed away in Thornton, Colorado on July 13, 2020.

She graduated from Boulder High School in 1964. During her life, she co-owned a beauty salon in Boulder, worked at Storage Technology as an Engineering Assistant, and before retirement, she was a Medical Administrative Assistant. In the last 11 years of her life, she resided with her daughter and her family in Thornton.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Shá and her son-in-law, Alex Korczynski; and her two grandchildren, Blaine and Andy. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Donna loved her grandchildren dearly and was very proud of them. She was charismatic with a sassy attitude and spoke her mind. Nothing was ever sugar coated! Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and was a fanatic reader. You would always find her with a book in her hand or reading on her Kindle. She loved her grand dog Katie and spoiled her rotten. Donna had many friends and really enjoyed her monthly "Girls Night Out"!

Donna has succumb to long-term complications from diabetes and ultimately myocardial infraction. She felt strongly about organ donation and would be happy to know her tissue was donated to those in need. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff for the generous and very compassionate medical help Donna received in the last few hours of her life at North Suburban Hospital in Thornton, Colorado.

Arrangements are being handled by Horan & McConaty. Her family is holding a private visitation on July 16, 2020. Her ashes will be scattered by family at a later date. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life in the future when everyone can attend safely.
