Donna Marie Kirwan was born to Hobart and Ester (Widdle) Mastain on May 2, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa. Donna was united in marriage to George R. Kirwan on April 28, 1962, in Waterloo, Iowa. The couple made their first home in Littleton, Colorado. They would remain in the Denver area.
She was above all things an excellent stay-at-home mother to her young children. Her passion was genealogy, and she traveled the US gathering documents and pictures. Donna also loved to compose the annual Christmas letter sharing photos and stories of the family.
Donna Kirwan passed away Sunday, December 11, at Sunrise at Pinehurst in Denver. She was 92 years of age.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include: son, Kenneth Kirwan and spouse, Gail, of Redmond, WA, son, David Kirwan and spouse Joyce of Larkspur, CO son, Steven Kirwan and spouse Haydee of Oviedo, FL; 6 grandchildren: Nicole Kirwan, Zach Kirwan, Daniel Kirwan, Alex Kirwan, Michael Kirwan and Matteo Kirwan; brother-in-law, LaRoue Kirwan of Saratoga, CA, brother-in-law, Emil Kirwan and wife, Virginia of Kansas City, KS, sister-in-law, LaRae Drew of Alexandria, VA, sister-in-law, Maribell Irwin of Odessa, NE, brother-in-law, David Kirwan of Stockton, CA.
A Memorial Shelter Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. (MT), at Fort Logan National Cemetery. For those who wish to attend the Shelter Service, it is asked that you arrive at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B no later than 2:15pm.
