Donnie, 74, of Aurora, passed in the company of his family on September 2, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1943 in Lexington, Virginia to his parents, the late Howard F. Blackwell and Berry A. Fix. Donnie is a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and later served in Public Works for the City of Aurora. He attended Fellowship Community Church in Aurora and was passionate in his Faith.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Blackwell; children, Monica (Allen) Albright and Jason (Amy) Blackwell; grandchildren, Megan Raymond, Bryce Raymond, Elora Albright, Brock Blackwell, Alex Blackwell, Holli McCormack, Bobby Hendricks, Cherilyn Hebert, Dylan Lines, and Liam Lines; his siblings, Cecil Blackwell Lottie and Diane Ball Gene; nieces and nephews, Cecil Jr. Blackwell, Jeff Blackwell, Dawn Blackwell, and Steve Blackwell; and sister-in-law, Barbara Blackwell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Berry Blackwell; siblings, Fred Blackwell and Delmus Blackwell.
Funeral Services will be held for Donnie on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:00AM at Fellowship Community Church, 6263 South Parker Road, Centennial, Colorado 80016. A time of continued fellowship and refreshment will take place immediately following. Interment with military honors rendered by the United States Navy will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 2:15PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area âCâ, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue Denver, Colorado 80236.
