Age 87, died July 11, 2007 with his family at his side. His family celebrates his life and his selfless dedication to helping others. As a policeman retiring as Division Chief for the Denver Police Department, Doral worked to improve community relations in Denver through Department community outreach programs and serving on the board of numerous civic organizations, including Child Opportunity Program that administered the Head Start programs throughout Denver. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Irene, his children Toni L. Werder of White Mountain Lake, Arizona, Philip J. Smith of New York, New York, Jennifer A. Cornell of Denver, his sons-in-law Jim Werder and Rod Cornell, his daughter-in-law, Svetlana V. Petroff, his grandchildren Brian (Jen) and Kimberly Cornell of Denver, Lauren Smith Mojica and Taylor J. Smith of Albuquerque, and a great-grandson, Ethan Mojica, son of Abraham Mojica Morette of Albuquerque. Following private services and interment at Fort Logan, the family invites friends to a reception to celebrate Doral's life on Monday, July 16 at 2:00-4:00 PM, Horan & McConaty, 3101 So. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood.
