Doreen Piccolo

Doreen Piccolo, age 90, died peacefully at home on the 10th of April 2013. She was born to Percy and Emily Tyler on the 31st of March 1923 in Irthlingborough, England. Doreen left her family and everything she knew behind for the love of a soldier, Dave Piccolo. They married in England in 1947 and Doreen found herslf crossing the Atlantic to make a new life in Denver. She became an American citizen in 1948. Her love of family and life was an inspiration to all she met. Her kindness, gentle spirit and ever-positive approach were her hallmarks, although most would say her smile, laugh and sense of humor were her signature features. Doreen is with God and has reunited with well-loved family members who have recently gone before her, including her beloved parents, husband Dave, sister-in-law Annette Piccolo, nephew Ralph Anselmo and niece JoAnne Piccolo. She is survived by her brother-in-law Leonard Piccolo, great nieces Cynthia Wax and Denise Gensch, and a great nephew John Anselmo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Saturday the 13th of April at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made in Doreen's name to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
