Doris Burroughs, of Denver, passed away peacefully after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Doris was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Gary. The two were married 64 years. Doris retired in 2010 after a long career at Colorado Department of Health WIC program, where she was the Office Manager. Doris enjoyed her career and those she worked with. Doris is survived by her husband Gary, her children; Terri, David, Debra, and Melissa. Two granddaughters, who she adored, Aubrie and Madison, and 8 great grandchildren. Doris and Gary enjoyed traveling with their children, cruising, fishing, Bronco games, playing bingo and Blackhawk on Fridays. Doris was the true matriarch of her family. Everyone depended on Doris for encouragement, advice, spelling and grammar corrections. Her home with Gary was always open to one and all. Having shared a spare room, food, advice, love, and laughter. Lots of laughter.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer Association in her honor.
