Doris Bernadette Dombeck, age 75, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away in her apartment home on March 23rd, 2022 after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer.
Doris was born on December 28th, 1946 to John and Mary Flageolle in Stratton, Colorado. She grew up on a farm with her nine brothers and five sisters. After graduating high school, she moved to Denver with her sisters, where she worked at Keebler and met her future husband, John. Doris and John married November 28th, 1970, going on to have three children – Craig, Johnny, and Cynthia (Cyndi). They later adopted their first granddaughter, Talisha.
Doris lived her life as a wonderful homemaker and a devoted Catholic. She loved to embroider, crochet, watch old Westerns, read, and dance (usually when nobody was watching). Though she worked “out” occasionally as her kids got older, her number one focus was always her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and “Nana,” always filling her home with warmth and kindness. She taught her kids the value of hard work, sticking to one’s word, but most importantly – compassion. Doris became a “Nana” to all, and we will miss her greatly.
Doris was predeceased by her husband John, and her oldest son Craig. She is survived by her children (Johnny and his wife Kate, Cyndi, Talisha and her husband Matthew), by her grandchildren (Trinity, Rachel), and by her great-grandchild (Xavier). She is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church. Please make any donations in lieu of flowers to The Rosary Shrine of Saint Jude. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock on Wednesday, April 13th at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church (900 W Midway Blvd, Broomfield CO 80020). The funeral service will be followed by a lunch reception at the church, and graveside service beginning at 2:15pm at Crown Hill Cemetery (7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge CO 80033).
