Beloved Doris Marie Carlson Dreher Knaus, born June 12, 1922 in Longmont, Colorado, died Friday June 5, 2015 surrounded by her devoted family at Sunrise at Pinehurst in Denver. Doris was 92. She was the daughter of C. Walter Carlson and Maude Wetzel Carlson. She is survived by her daughters Dianne Carlson Nelson (David) and Suzan Dell Dreher (Virgil Harris), six grandchildren: Tracy Schmitt (Todd), Tami Bertelsen (Joel), Todd Nelson (Heather), Spencer Luft (Jody), Christopher Luft (Dana), Andrew Luft (Megan) and great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Christopher and Zachary Schmitt, Joshua, Carly and Elliana Bertelsen, Aidan, Emma and Andrew Nelson, Mason Luft, Samantha and Matthew Luft, and McKenzie Luft, brother-in-law Dr. Richard Dreher, cousin Stan Smock, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by husbands W. Dell Dreher and Harvey Knaus and sisters Lucille and Gladys. She was laid to rest at a graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont on June 11, 2015. Doris belonged to Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2 book clubs, a study club Chapter, PEO, several bridge groups, Kappa Alpha Theta and was the second woman member at Cherry Hills Country Club. She was a homemaker, enjoyed creating her home and garden, entertaining, golfing and loved her family, pets and friends. Those who wish, may give to Disabled American Veterans in her name.
