Doris A. Stahl, age 94, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Hospice in Denver on August 23nd, 2018. She is survived by her sons, Greg and Tracy Stahl and sister Laurrine Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents Thal and Effy Clow, four brothers, Laverne, Raymond, Lloyd and Herald and three sisters Edith, Violet and Hazel. Doris was born and raised on her parent's dairy farm in the small farming community of Orleans in Northern Minnesota near the Canadian border. Doris attended the University of Minnesota where she received her nursing degree. Doris also served in the Army nursing Core during the 2nd world war. Doris pursued her nursing career and also did fashion modeling when she was younger.
Doris moved to Denver in 1975 after she fell in love with the Colorado Mountains when she was stationed at Camp Carson after WWII. Doris was an artist and enjoyed painting mountain landscapes. She also enjoyed hiking and cross country skiing in the Mountains and was an avid traveler and loved to dance. Doris collected antiques, was active in PEO, enjoyed art galleries, antiquing and playing golf, bridge and Mahjong and selling MaryKay.
Doris was cremated and a memorial service for Doris will be held on September 29th 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Brookdale Senior living community at 2020 S. Monroe St. Denver, CO 80210.
