Dorothy Ann Andrew

April 29, 1926 — May 17, 2018

Dorothy, loving wife and mother, passed away, peacefully, at Morning Star Senior Living in Littleton, on May 17, 2018. Dorothy was born in Denver on April 29, 1926 and was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Vessa) Perito. She was the second of four children and was predeceased by Charles. Dorothy attended North High School in Denver and married the love of her life, Felix Andrew, also affectionately known as “Phil,” on April 20, 1943 in Denver. Phil entered the U. S. Navy after the start of WWII and was a Navy Corpsman serving, with the Marines, at Camp Pendleton, CA with the 3rd and 5th Marine Divisions. Phil and Dorothy started their family in 1944 with the birth of their daughter, Diane. Their daughters, Sandra, Cynthia, and son, Dino, soon followed. Phil was discharged from the Navy in May 1946 and started his ironworker career while Dorothy supported his career as wife, mother, and homemaker from their lifelong home in Aurora. They were a true “Greatest Generation” couple. Dorothy and Phil were avid golfers and played many courses throughout the U. S. They loved to travel, especially to international locales such as Mexico, Egypt and Italy. Dorothy loved nothing more than to prepare a big Italian meal for her extended family and to tend to her beautiful backyard garden. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Georgina, and brother, Michael Jr., and children, Diane, Sandra, Cynthia, and Dino. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy and her family are grateful for the support of their many friends. The family would like to afford special thanks to the staff at Morning Star of Littleton for making Dorothy comfortable in her final years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 830 Elm Street, Denver, CO 80220. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the church. Interment will be held at 1:30 pm at the Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ the King Parish or charity of your choice.
