Dorothy Stevens Bruner was born January 1, 1940 in Houston, TX. Dorothy attended San Jacinto High School, she was a rope twirler her senior year, and Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She met and married Dennis Bruner, from Colorado, in Houston and was married for over 54 years. They lived in Centennial, Colorado for nearly all of their marriage. She was active in her sorority life during and after college, where she was a member of the Rocky Mt. Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha and held many positions there. She also was very active with the collegiate chapter of Zeta in Ft. Collins and loved the time she got to spend with the collegiate chapter there. She also did much charity work including the Cystic Fibrosis Tennis Tournament, the Denver Center Alliance, and the Assistance League of Denver where she worked or chaired many committees. Dorothy was known for her sense of humor and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and was never known for being at a lack of words. Her survivors include Dennis, her son, Michael, and her daughter, Melissa as well as other cousins and relatives. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 12 at 1 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122.
