Dorothy Ann Fisher, 86, died peacefully Thursday, January 31, 2019 at home in Larkspur Colorado following a long decline in health.
She leaves behind Michael, her son and his spouse Tina, Krystal her granddaughter, two great-grandchildren Justin and Jason, and many close friends.
Born and raised in Jersey City, the daughter of George and Anna Pechefsky.
Before and after graduating from Dickenson High School in Jersey City, Dorothy would spend her summers in upstate New York where she met her husband Stanley of 62 years. Married in 1952 they moved to the small town of Cross River, New York where they purchased some land and built their first house and raised a family.
Dorothy worked odd jobs doing clerical and bookkeeping, but was mostly at home raising her two children while Stanley worked nights.
After retirement, they moved to Colorado and spent a lot of time traveling our wonderful country by car. They loved a good road trip. Taking in all the tourist traps they could find and collecting Christmas Ornaments at every stop.
Dorothy loved Christmas, it was her most favorite holiday. She was just like Mrs. Claus. Every room had to be decorated. Christmas treeâs in almost every room. Lights all over the outside of the house. They would wait until Christmas Eve and the kids were in bed to decorate the large family tree in the living room so that Christmas morning it seemed like Santa himself came and decorated and put all the gifts under the tree.
Dorothy was an avid baseball fan. Go Rockies! She and Stanley would take in as many games as possible at Coors Field. When health issues kept them from going to the ball park she would watch every game on television. She knew all the players names and all the stats.
Dorothy lived out her final years in the care of her son Michael. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.
