Dorothy L. Kral passed away in her home February 23, 2010. She was 88. She was born March 5, 1921, in Crete, Nebraska to Lebert and Liela Siebrass Leach, though most of her youth was spent in Blue Hill, Nebraska. She married Creighton William Kral Jan. 1, 1943 in Mississippi while he was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Creighton preceded her in death in 2000. Following the war, she and Creighton moved to Denver, Colorado, where Dorothy worked at Montgomery Wards to put Creighton through his bachelor of arts education. At the end of this endeavor, Dorothy invested her life in providing a warm and nurturing home for her husband and five children, Jerry, Thomas, Debra, Steven and John. This naturally led to her second career as a loving grandmother to Maggie, Kym, Bill, Adrianne, Rocky, Jeff and Rachel and great grandmother to Kayri, Michael and Kaya. Holidays around Dorothy's house - be it Christmas or Easter - were special for her children and grandchildren. Each knew they would be receiving one of Dorothy's special ceramic figurines she created during ceramic classes at Heather Gardens, where she and Creighton lived for 30 years. She also embroidered holiday tablecloths, napkins and Christmas stockings for her children; and at Easter, the grandchildren could expect one of Dorothy's special baskets. Dorothy is survived by her loving family: children, Jerry Kral (wife, Midge Fraser Kral), Thomas Kral, Debra Knuth (husband, Mike Knuth), Steven Kral (wife, Amy Langston Kral), and John Kral; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Sternberg. Preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Verna Leach and Irvene Hatch. A viewing for Dorothy will be held Monday, March 1st, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. An additional viewing will also be held on Monday, at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 pm.
