Dorothy Ann Pearson, age 89, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home in Aurora, CO. Dorothy was born April 28, 1928 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Carl and Mollie (Neumann) Fredrickson. She grew up in Litchville, ND and graduated from Litchville High School in 1946. She first attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and then graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1950 with a degree in music education. Dorothy married David L. Pearson in Valley City, ND on Aug. 19, 1951. Together they lived in Seattle, WA and Richmond, CA before moving to Aurora in 1961. They were married until Davidâs death on Dec. 8, 1992. Dorothy loved to travel and visited over 70 countries on every continent (except Antarctica) during her full and varied life. She had a lifelong love of music and regularly attended the opera and symphony. She was active for many years in the Republican party and with her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen Pearson, and son-in-law, Hal Shucard, Littleton, CO; her son, Mark Pearson, Durango, CO; and granddaughter, Sora Pearson. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, and her son Eric. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Dorothyâs honor to Opera Colorado or the Colorado Talking Book Library. A Memorial Service will be held in Dorothy's honor, 10:00AM, January 5, 2017 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014).
