Dorothy Ann Marty Reibold

Dorothy Ann Marty was born Feb 22, 1922 on a farm southwest of Leigh, Neb. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Platte Center High School in 1939 and from Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Neb., in 1945 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Education. She taught in several Nebraska schools and at Zion Lutheran School in Brighton, Colo. On March 27, 1947, Dorothy was married to Wayne Reibold in Denver, Colo. Shortly after her marriage she accepted a position as Office Manager for a wholesale grocer in Denver for several years before the birth of her children. Dorothy was bookkeeper and Director of the Budget for Hazeltine Heights Water District and had a bookkeeping service for more than 40 years. Dorothy was an avid genealogist and compiled two books on her family history, both of which are in the Library of Congress. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and is listed in ""Who's Who of America"" and in ""Who's Who of American Women. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and her sister Frances Jane Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Lillie Frances Reibold and son, Marty Reibold and his wife Kathleen Jones, as well as her granddaughters, Suzanne, Christine and Kathryn Slaughter and her grandson, Robin Reibold. She is also survived by her sister Alice May Dawson and her brothers, Lawrence Marty and Harvey Marty. She passed away at her daughter's home in Irving, Texas, on Sept. 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 12021 Northaven Circle, Thornton, Colo., at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lord of Life Church Building Fund or to the Colorado Daughters of the American Revolution – Ft. Vasquez Chapter.
