Dorothy Lee Richardson

August 27, 1924 — February 25, 2012

Dorothy Lee Richardson, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2012, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Dorothy was born in 1924 in McAllister, Oklahoma. She grew up in Norman and attended the University of Oklahoma. It was at the University where she met and married her husband and soul mate of 64 years, Colonel A. Richardson. Dorothy will always be remembered by her family as an active volunteer and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, First Baptist Church of Tyler, Texas, and First Baptist Church of Norman. Dorothy was also active in the Norman PEO Chapter, Sara Lee Sewing Club, as well as book clubs and bridge groups in Norman and Oklahoma City. Dorothy was a staunch supporter of OU athletics and could always be heard singing Boomer Sooner above the crowd! She always placed family and friends first in everything she did in life. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Colonel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her brother Bob Taylor (Marilyn) of Houston, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Joe Eurton of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Susie Richardson of Wimberley, Texas; and grandchildren Amy Holton (Dan) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Ash Eurton (Leslie) of New River, Arizona, Aaron Eurton of Denver, Colorado, Casey Guthary, of Norman and Tyler Richardson of Austin, Texas. In addition she was blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Christian, Patrick, and Adam Holton and Meredith and Wes Eurton. Dorothy never met a stranger and her gregarious personality and warm smile was always present making everyone she met feel like her best friend. Her Christian faith left a legacy to her family that will carry on for generations to come. Colonel has lost his soul mate and the love of his life. Dorothy will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all her family and friends.
