Doris Sourwine died April 23, 2014. Born April 21, 1923 to John and Anna Herzog Decker. She married her husband, Lyman, in their hometown of Burlington, IA, after his return from WWII naval service. Doris and Lyman moved to Denver in 1954, later building a home in Indian Hills, CO. Both were active in the close-knit Indian Hills community, volunteering with 4-H and the Indian Hills Volunteer Fire Dept. Later, Doris worked with Lyman in his Denver Sign Co. After Lyman died, Doris was active with bowling, family and a continual, lively struggle with native deer over her beloved flowers. Her special delight was her grandchildren, who always made her face light up with joy. Survived by daughters, Mary Ann (Dan) Rhode and Pat (Dave) Thyfault, 5 grandchildren, Adam and Justin Thyfault, Matt Rhode, Caroline Byers, and Sharon Tracy, 6 great grand children, 9 nieces and nephews. We will miss her sense of humor, energy, and caring spirit.
