Dorris Elizabeth Hamby Hollahan was born on December 29, 1931, in rural Tipton County, TN. She lived on a farm and was raised by her maternal grandparents. Dorris excelled in sports, especially basketball, was a beauty queen, and a stewardess with Delta Airlines. She then began working for International Harvester where she met her husband, Robert ""Bob"" Hollahan. They married in 1957 in Memphis, TN. Dorris and Bob had four children and made Littleton (now Centennial), CO their home. Dorris made her four children her priority. She was at every game, match, meet, competition and was a very active team mother for her children and all the kids in the neighborhood. She was an avid tennis player, golfer, and bridge player. But all her time revolved around supporting her children and their various endeavors. When her children were grown, she became a childcare provider and assisted in the raising of many other children who became part of the family. She was her happiest when she was mothering. Dorris passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 12. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Ted; and grandson, Devon. She is survived by her son Jeff (Lynn); daughters Beth and Jan (Chris); grandchildren Kelsey (Matt), Hunter, Liam, and Keenan; and brothers Jim and Richard. Her memorial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S Quebec St, Centennial, on Thursday, August 20 at 10:30 am.
