Douglas Teasdale

August 7, 1935 — September 20, 2021

Douglas J. Teasdale, 86, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on September 20th, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Doug was born to parents Douglas J Teasdale (Sr) and Frances Teasdale in Detroit, Michigan on August 7, 1935.  He graduated from Troy High School in Troy, MI with the class of 1954.  Doug’s early life was challenging as his father passed away when he was just 15.

Doug joined the Air Force in 1955 and Married Janice Morin in 1960.  Their military lives took them to many places around world including Fairbanks, Alaska and Japan.  In 1970, Doug left the Air Force full time and joined the Colorado Air National Guard in Aurora, CO.  Doug’s combined Air Force/National Guard service amounted to over 30 yrs of serving his country.  In 1995 Doug retired as a Master Sergeant with full military benefits from the Air Force and Air National Guard.

Doug and Janice have lived in Aurora, CO for over 50 yrs.  After retirement Doug was honored to volunteer his time with the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum for 20 yrs.  Doug was an integral part of creating the Colorado Air National Guard and POW/MIA rooms at the museum. He was loved and admired greatly by his friends and family.  Known to be generous to a fault...if he had it and you needed it, it was yours without question.

Doug is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Janice, who passed just one year prior. Doug is survived by his brother, Ken Teasdale, daughter Cheryl Teasdale (Steve Kaiser) , son Craig Teasdale (Stacy), and Grand Children he loved unconditionally ~ Cassy Adams (Jared), Stephanie Ritmire, Melissa Teasdale, Dylan Quinn, Katie Quinn and Great Granddaughter, Sierra Adams.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in his name.
