Doug is survived by his wife Karee, daughter Amber, son Taylor, grandson Jesse and brothers Terry and Rex. He is preceded in death by his parents Dane and Frances and his brothers Dick and Russ. Doug was born and grew up in Boulder, Colorado where he shared a lively childhood with his four brothers while attending parochial school. He was destined to be a businessman and always a hard worker. At a young age, he started a paper route and moved on to work his way up to a journeyman at Kings Soopers. He was able to put himself through college while working in restaurants where he became skilled at and enjoyed cooking. He graduated from CU Boulder with a Business degree and moved on to get his Major in Banking. Banking proved to be a great fit and passion for his working life and where he met Karee. Over a 40 Year time span, he moved his way through the banking world perfecting skills in audit, commercial loans, special assets and credit culminating his career at Citywide Banks as an Executive Vice President. Throughout his career he felt a special satisfaction in mentoring and teaching others that he worked with.

Doug and Karee were married for 39 years where he became the ultimate family man. While he was extremely successful in his business life, his family always came first. He enjoyed going on regular vacations where he had a special fondness for Las Vegas, Disneyland and Glenwood Springs. He especially loved being involved with what Amber and Taylor’s interests were as well as making sure their friends were a part of the family. He was always teasing and joking with people but was also the person you wanted to go to when advice was needed. He was an avid CU football fan and refused to miss a game no matter where he was. He enjoyed golf and bowling where he was able to achieve a hole in one as well as bowling a 300 game. He and Karee enjoyed renovating and updating the house they made into a family home for 32 years. He loved to invite people over for holidays, sporting events and celebrations in the home they made perfect for the family. Doug has touched the lives of many people, is loved by many and will be missed greatly.
