Dr. Roy A. Bartee passed away suddenly at home in Englewood from a stroke on Wednesday, September 12. He would have been 89 in October. Dr. Bartee was born in Minniapolis, and grew up in Chicago and Phoenix. He married Evelyn Grace Peck in Phoenix in 1940. He was a graduate of the University of Denver and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Bartee practiced family medicine in South Denver for over 30 years and was an active staff member at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, four sisters, Janet Hunter of Bellingham, WA, Margaret Roques of Williams, AZ, Beatrice Smith of Carlsbad, CA, and Joy Weddle of Globe, AZ, two sons, Roy M. Bartee II, MD of LIttleton and Brian Peck Bartee of Lakewood, two grandchildren, Roy M. Bartee III of Sandy, Utah, and Dianne Bartee Guzzle of Boise, Idaho, and six great grandchildren. A Requiem Mass will be said for him at noon, Saturday, September 29 at St. Mark's Orthodox Church, 1405 S. Vine St., Denver. Please make memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
