Dr. William Stewart Hiatt

W. Stewart Hiatt, M.D., 84, of Denver passed away on Dec. 31, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He had a distinguished medical & military career as a surgeon & colonel. Stewart was a world traveler, an accomplished athlete & loved his Rocky Mountains. Preceded in death by his son, Bill. Loving husband of Catherine. Father of Heather (Peter) Haakenson M.D., step-father of Christy (Kevin) Marshall. Father-in-law of Michelle Hiatt. Grandfather of Quinn, Madeline, Charlie, Daniel, Callie & Katy. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Special thanks to the staff of Juniper Village of Aurora for their kindness and caring of Stewart. We will miss him and his huge laugh & adventurous spirit. Funeral Service Monday, January 11, 2016, 10 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Visitation one hour before service. Burial to follow service at 12 noon, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area ""A"". Donations suggested to Wounded Warrior Project or Alzheimer Association. Please share condolences below.
