Bold, brazen, and frequently crass. Classy, smart, and full of sass. Handsome, charismatic, and a gifted healer. Unfiltered, unbridled and a generous giver. These are the words that describe Dr. Charles (Chuck) Kimmel from his vast community of friends, patients, family, and former colleagues. Some people are born with a calling. It took Chuck a few years of rebellious adventures to find his. Once he found a chiropractor that could fix his sore and tired, farm-worked body, he was hooked. It was not uncommon for him to diagnose strangers from afar, occasionally even approaching those strangers to explain how he could help them. Chuck loved helping and healingâfrom horses and dogs to babies and professional athletes: all were worthy to receive the benefits of his gifted hands. Chuck grew up in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, the only son of Jean and Ken Kimmel with older sister, Pauline. Chuck and Pauline had the normal sibling rivalry until a nasty fight with spoons and a bat settled the feud and Chuck took the upper hand. His family was very proud of Chuck and his chiropractic accomplishments, as evidenced by Paulineâs insistence that Greg and Krista call him Uncle Charles not Uncle Chuck because, âHeâs a doctor and deserves our respect.â When Chuck would return home to visit, his collapsible chiropractic table accompanied him, much to everyoneâs delight. Typical of a rural upbringing, Chuck learned the value of hard work and sweat equity. He enjoyed the mantra, âWork hard and play harder,â until his last breath. Chuck never passed up an opportunity to laugh and liven up his surroundings. He also consistently improved anything he borrowed before he returned it. Chuck is survived by wife Yvette, sons Jordan and Trystan, niece Krista, nephew Greg, and numerous cousins far and wide. The positive impact of Chuck Kimmel was felt by many.
