Dr. Charles Kimmel

December 10, 1948 — May 25, 2018

Bold, brazen, and frequently crass. Classy, smart, and full of sass. Handsome, charismatic, and a gifted healer. Unfiltered, unbridled and a generous giver. These are the words that describe Dr. Charles (Chuck) Kimmel from his vast community of friends, patients, family, and former colleagues. Some people are born with a calling. It took Chuck a few years of rebellious adventures to find his. Once he found a chiropractor that could fix his sore and tired, farm-worked body, he was hooked. It was not uncommon for him to diagnose strangers from afar, occasionally even approaching those strangers to explain how he could help them. Chuck loved helping and healing—from horses and dogs to babies and professional athletes: all were worthy to receive the benefits of his gifted hands. Chuck grew up in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, the only son of Jean and Ken Kimmel with older sister, Pauline. Chuck and Pauline had the normal sibling rivalry until a nasty fight with spoons and a bat settled the feud and Chuck took the upper hand. His family was very proud of Chuck and his chiropractic accomplishments, as evidenced by Pauline’s insistence that Greg and Krista call him Uncle Charles not Uncle Chuck because, “He’s a doctor and deserves our respect.” When Chuck would return home to visit, his collapsible chiropractic table accompanied him, much to everyone’s delight. Typical of a rural upbringing, Chuck learned the value of hard work and sweat equity. He enjoyed the mantra, “Work hard and play harder,” until his last breath. Chuck never passed up an opportunity to laugh and liven up his surroundings. He also consistently improved anything he borrowed before he returned it. Chuck is survived by wife Yvette, sons Jordan and Trystan, niece Krista, nephew Greg, and numerous cousins far and wide. The positive impact of Chuck Kimmel was felt by many. He will not easily be forgotten, but will surely be remembered for being""é Strong-willed, ornery, and assertive Jovial, compassionate, and witty Daring, generous, and tenacious Pensive, creative, and talented Memorial donations may be made to Freedom Service Dogs, 7193 S Dillon Ct, Englewood, CO 80112 (303) 922-6231 A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday June 4, 2018 at 5:30 PM in the Horan and McConaty Chapel at 11150 E.
