Dwayne Hammond Davenport was born February 2, 1929 to Eugenia (Jean) Davenport in Fostoria, Ohio. He was the son of Eugenia and step-father Clyde ""Pop"" Davenport.
Dwayne was called home to his heavenly Father on April 15, 2020 while in the hospital in Lone Tree, Colorado.
Dwayne was raised in Englewood, Colorado and in 1945 he joined the US Navy. After his service in the Navy, Dwayne started his own appliance repair business which he ran for many, many years. Dwayne volunteered as a police chaplain with the Englewood, Colorado police department. Dwayne retired from the appliance repair business and went into the ministry. He served churches in Burlington, Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Denver, Colorado. He retired from the ministry and was living in Centennial, Colorado.
Dwayne was proceeded in death by his wives, Louise, Shirley, and Vivian; his mother, Eugenia; sister, Ann Marie Holmes and grandchildren, Krista Keagy and Jeremy Davenport.
He is survived by his sisters, Sandra Kauffman, Nancy Lowery and Margaret Wolph; daughter Denise (William) Keagy, and son Paul (Carolyn) Davenport; grandchildren, Lisa (David) Joslyn, Amanda (Benjamin) Keagy and John (Emilie) Davenport; and great-grandchildren Allison Keagy, Elle and Sophia Joslyn, and Madison and Sadie Jo Davenport.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later time.
