E. W. Tex Laughlin

Estel Write "Tex" Laughlin Born in Bartlett, Texas on July 8th, 1926 and departed this world on September 19, 2006. He resided in Littleton, Colorado. Estel Wright "Tex" Laughlin 80, of LIttleton, CO passed away peacefully at his home in Littleton, Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Tex was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Jane Anderson. He is survived by wife, Marian and three children; William Edward Corbett, Patricia Anne Bauernfeind and Lori Elizabeth Berumen; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Tex was born in Bartlett, Texas on July 8, 1926, to William and Lenora Laughlin. His family included three brothers; Harlen, Eugene and James David (J.D.) and two sisters, Erlene and Jeanelle. At an early age his family moved to Overton, Texas, where he graduated from Overton High School. It was there that he played football and developed his life-long love of sports. After graduation, Tex joined the Army Air Core during World War II, where he served his country honorably. He also served in the Korean War as a Reservist. While stationed in Canada, he met his true love, Marian. They wed and settled in Denver to raise their family of four children. He worked at Gates Rubber Company for 30 years. Tex and Marian enjoyed their 60th wedding aniversary, March 17, 2006. He loved kids, dogs and a good joke. He and Marian traveled the U.S. and thoroughly enjoyed life. He was a huge Bronco and Rockies fan, but loved poker most of all. Many holidays were spent with the family gathered around the table after a big home cooked meal playing "onaha". He will be missed by all who knew this kind, loving, humorous man.
