Earl Fernandez, 74, of Denver passed away July 31, 2009 after a long battle with kidney disease. Earl was born and raised in West Denver before settling in unincorporated Adams County. He attended Denver's North High School for one year before having to quit to help support his family. Afterwards, he forged a 30 year career in the trucking industry with companies such as Perrington Wholesale, Giambracco Food Service and finally settling with Nobel/Sysco Foods (now Sysco Foods); during this time he was active with Teamsters Union Local 435 until his retirement in 1991. In his spare time and in retirement Earl enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife of 45 years, Viola A. Fernandez, 73, family camping trips, woodworking, and fixing things around the house. Together they raised eight children in a three bedroom house they still call home in Welby. Preceded in death by his brothers Lee, Ernie, Eluid (Dovy), Eloy, Elias (Bosco), Eddie, Dan, sister Cordillia Bernal, son Robert (2002), Earl is survived by Viola, sons, Roxie (Marie) Fernandez, Tony (Andrea) Fernandez, Michael (Pamela) Fernandez, Geno Fernandez, Earl Jr. (Lana) Fernandez, daughters Pearl (Bryan) Younger, Anna Fernandez, grandchildren Stephanie Fernandez, Micah Fernandez, Josiah Fernandez, Gina Fernandez, Audrey (Ben) Kesler, Steven Younger, Teaka Fernandez, Jasmin Fernandez, Weslene Fernandez, Damon & Danielle Fernandez, Jennifer & Michael Fernandez and mutilple great-grandchildren including Alyssa Kesler. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, 10AM, at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, followed by Burial Services held at Highland Cemetery, 10201 N. Grant Street, Thornton.
