Eddie J. Henderson

Eddie J. Henderson passed away on April 11, 2016 at the age of 81. He was born June 29, 1934 in Mexia, TX to Cleo Cox and John V. Henderson. Eddie ""Corky"" is survived by wife Catherine ""Kaye"" L. Henderson, children David (and Cindy) Henderson, Cathy (and Tyson) Dearduff, Curtis (and Barbara) Henderson, and grandchildren Kelly (and James), Tyler, Duncan, Christopher ""Kipp,"" Lucas, Tabor, and Roland, and brother Elgie Henderson of Arlington, TX. Eddie is preceded in death by parents Cleo and Johnny. Eddie and Kaye married in 1955 and celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in January. Eddie graduated from Texas A & M University in 1957. In 1967, he relocated his family from Texas to Denver, Colorado to work at a small start-up petroleum exploration company. In addition to a rewarding career in the oil business, Eddie busied himself with many activities outside of work that brought joy and fulfillment to himself and his family. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history books, historical fiction, and old western novels. Eddie also enjoyed listening to the lyrical songs of artists such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Roger Whitaker, Gordon Lightfoot, and Neil Diamond, among others. He was a good singer and dancer and took up guitar later in life. Having had a carpenter father, Eddie discovered he, too, had a penchant for woodworking, and spent many hours on building projects including furniture and framing for Kaye's beautiful artwork. Above all, Eddie loved his wife, and they loved their family with self-sacrificing care and devotion. Services will be held on Saturday May 7, 2016, at eleven o'clock in the morning, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, Colorado 80122.
