Eddie King

Eddie King was born May 3, 1939 to Mildred Inez Snider and Eddie King, in Nashville, Tennessee. He died on December 27, 2007. His parents, as well as his adoptive mother, Chrissie Roe Evans, preceded him in death. He served four years in the Marine Corps in the late '50s and the time he spent in the marines had a life-long impact on him. He graduated from Richmond Polytechnic Institute, which later became Virginia Commonwealth University in June of 1970. He had a highly successful sales career and worked for various companies including DuPont & FMC. Member of Coopers Troopers, Marine Corps League, ""The Youngsters"", and a Lifetime member of 3rd Marine Division Association. He married Nancy Kay Evans on September 17, 1987. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his daughter, Vera (and son-in-law Dwayne Ligon); and his daughter Judy King (and son-in-law Eddie Nolan). He is also survived by his granddaughters, Amy, Rachel and Rebecca and his grandson, Shaun. He will also be missed by Nedra Sylvis, Lynda, Scott, Lance and Marissa Schimke, Kent, Kari, Alaura and Christian Sylvis, Margaret and Vern Smith, Janet Smith and Jeff Moore, and David, Janine, Chris, Julie and Andrew Smith. In addition he will be missed by many, many friends and the light of his life, a rusty brown Shih Tzu named Jaz King. His beloved Nancy says ""There will never be enough words or phrases to describe the kindness, the love, the laughter, the personality and caring of Eddie King. I am so blessed to have him as my husband. In honor of Eddie, please do something special for a military person or family. God bless you all."" Services will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, 3:00pm, Horan & McConaty, 3101 So. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. (If poor weather, services will be held March 9th.) Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the 3rd Marine Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 254, Chalfont, PA 18914.
