Edgar Mark Engelen

85, of Boulder, CO, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Denver, CO, after an illness with brain cancer. His memorial service will be Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11AM in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora. Internment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to Porter Hospice. Edgar was born July 4, 1924, to Mark and Effie Engelen, in Kadoka, South Dakota. He was the youngest of five children. He served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He moved to Fargo, ND where he pursued a career in television. Following retirement, he live in Boulder, CO where he enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family and friends. Edgar never married and had no children. He is survived by his sister, Lois Haynes of Aurora, CO; nieces Twila Beery of Casa Grande, AZ, Cindy Morris of Castle Rock; nephew Mark Haynes of Wesminister, CO; great nieces, Kristen Raliegh of Denver, Donia Beile of Omaha, NE and their families.
