Edith (Edie), of Thornton, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012. Survived by her spouse, Alvin Hemenover; daughters, Kimberly (Jerry) Lantz, Lorrie (Jeffery) Jones, Stacey (Bruce McRae), and Judy Hemenover; sons, Howard Retzer and Ernie Weir; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Gary, Joyce, Ann, Pam, and Myrna. Preceded in death by parents, John & Mary Schakel; and brother, Richard Schakel. Viewing will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton.
