Edith Christiansen

Edith Ann Rockwell Christiansen was born January 20, 1933 in Logan, Iowa to Bessie and LeRoy Rockwell. She passed away on April 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Edith was the youngest of 10 children, all who proceeded her in death. She graduated from Logan High School in 1950 and was married to James E. Christiansen in 1953.

Edith was mother of Carol, Bill, and Anita.

Edith was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. She started volunteering when her daughter Carol started school and continued volunteering for all of her children. She was a Room Mother, Library Volunteer, Football Mom, and PTA assistant.

In 1983, she started volunteering at Lutheran Medical Center where she served on the Volunteer Leadership Council, Social Committee, Bake Sale and many other roles. She continued volunteering at Lutheran Medical Center for 34 years. She also volunteered for 10 years at the 9 Health Fair until her vision deteriorated and she no longer could see. She gave freely of her time and helped so many.

Her greatest joy was being a grandma. She loved baking cookies and delicious meals for her family. Holidays were so important to her. She was a beautiful host to many parties where she did all of the cooking and preparation. She was an avid football fan and loved her team, The Denver Broncos! She was just a beautiful woman who loved deeply.

Edith is survived by her daughter Carol Tveitmoe (Robert); grandchildren Jenette Dolezal (Mat), Jodi Quinnell (Dan), and Randy Hinderberger (Megan); and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brielle and Eadee. She will be missed beyond words by so many wonderful friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edith’s memory to Arvada Covenant Church , where Edith was a member, or to Center for People with Disabilities , who helped Edith with support during her years of macular degeneration.

A private family graveside service will take place at Arvada Cemetery where Edith will join her husband Jim, son Bill, and daughter Anita.
