Edith E DeNoyer

June 24, 1950 — April 20, 2006

Edith Elaine (McVay) DeNoyer succumbed to cancer on April 20, 2006, with her family by her side. She was born June 24, 1950, in Lusk, Wyoming, to Francis and Maysie (Harris) McVay, the eighth of eleven children. Her family ran a lumber business in Glendo, Wyoming, and she graduated from high school there. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1972 and was an elementary teacher in rural Wyoming and the Denver area. Edith married Michael DeNoyer, Sr., in 1976, and they raised two children: Jeanne, a graduate student at Princeton University, and Michael, Jr., a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Edith touched many lives, both young and old. Known for her positive attitude, she "never met a stranger". She loved to be out in nature, and she passed her vast knowledge of the natural world on to her students. Edith loved life and her large family deeply. She will be greatly missed by her many friends. An outdoor memorial gathering and brunch for family and friends will take place at Bear Creek Lake Park Saturday, April 29, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. See the attached map, or ask for directions at the park entrance at C-470 and Morrison Road. Bring positive energy and a carry-in item for brunch. Water, coffee and tea will be served. There is a large picnic shelter in case of showers. Restrooms are nearby. No flowers, please. Family at 3145 S. Clay St., Englewood, CO 80110-1924. Feel free to call (303) 761-4401 for directions or details.
