Edith Faye Hester Frazier, beloved wife, mother and friend passed away from this earth on Friday December 15th 2017 at the age of 92. Edith was born in Belgreen, Alabama on November 30th 1925 as the second child of William Edward Hester and Minnie Tompkins Hester. Edith is survived by her adoring and loving husband of 64 years, James A. Frazier. James states, âEdith is the love of my life and my soul mate.â Jim and Edith were married on September 12th, 1953 and have four children - Jane Payne of Richmond, Virginia, Victoria Frazier of Frenchtown, NJ, Jim Frazier of Denver, Colorado and Mark Frazier of Los Angeles, California. Edith and Jim moved their young family from Alabama to a farm in upstate New York pursuing their early careers in Science. Their next family move was to the Washington D.C. area where they lived for 26 years. Edithâs Masters degree in Microbiology from Auburn University garnered her a prestigious job at The National Institute of Health and then another at The Naval Medical Center both in Bethesda, Maryland. Once Edithâs four children were out on their own she used her spare time at age 60 to pursue a law degree from Northern Virginia Law School. Edith valued education and believed in setting and trying to achieve oneâs goals. Edithâs legacy remains as the most loving, caring, giving person as witnessed and experienced by all of her family and friends. Edith never met a stranger and constantly put herself before others always seeing the positive side of life. Edithâs passion was gardening and she was most at home with her vegetable garden but especially her beautiful, abundant flowers-her favorite - morning glories. Edith loved her plants almost as much as her children. Edith was the most gracious hostess and would âwhip upâ a batch of biscuits, a pan of corn bread or some cranberry scones for anyone that dropped by to visit. Edithâs favorite holiday was Thanksgiving and we all remember her homemade rolls and pies. Edith loved her family and friends deeply. God is Edithâs lifelong guide, her source of comfort and Jesus is her eternal Savior. Edith will forever be adored and now dearly missed. Edith is preceded in death by her older sister Kate Bailey and her younger brother Chess Hester. Edithâs surviving family members are her beloved husband James Arthur Frazier of Denver, Colorado and a Brookdale Meridian resident, daughter Jane Payne of Richmond, Virginia and her children Megan, Spencer, and Kaitlin and her husband Josh,; Daughter Victoria Frazier of Frenchtown, NJ and her daughter Josseline, Jim Frazier of Denver, Colorado and his wife Lori, their son Adam and his wife Jillian and Edithâs three Great Grand-children Josiah, Evangeline and newborn Naomi; Eric Frazier; Lauren Frazier Posey and her husband Trevor; Mark Frazier of Los Angeles, California and his husband Tony Shibata.
