Edith Golden

Edith (Edie) J. Golden passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022, at the age of 82.

She is remembered as a fierce and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Edie was born in Clitherall, Minnesota, on Oct. 1, 1939, to the late Fredrick and Amy (Gustafson) Anderson. After graduating from Battle Lake High School, she moved to Denver with her sister and best friend Mary Brazier, where she met her husband, William P. Golden.

Edie and Bill went on to have six children. Along with her children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Edie loved gardening, sewing, travel, swimming and going to church as a devout Catholic. She became a symbol of strength and tenacity to all who loved her.

Edie is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her daughter Therese, her son Stephen and her daughter Bridget. She is survived by her sons Michael, Kelly and Kevin along with 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her celebration of life will be held on July 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Horan-McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial Colorado 80122.  A reception will follow at 11:00.  Burial will be for immediate family members only.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
