Edith Maurine McCorkle

Edith Maurine McCorkle, 97, born in Soldier, KS on Jan. 23, 1914 passed away Nov. 25, 2011. Survived by daughter Suella Marie Crowley Blair (Peter Blair); grandchildren Todd Searles, Kendra Searles Miller, Travis Searles, Joshua Searles, Molly McCorkle Wilby; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Mary Sourk, Lela Kroh, Betty (Claude) Rieschick, Edwina Pollock, & numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by husband Woodrow Wilson McCorkle; son James Thomas McCorkle, III; sisters Nora Helen Allen, Georgina Miller, & brother Kenneth Capsey. Maurine graduated from St. Luke's College in Kansas City, MO with a degree in Nursing & worked as a Registered Nurse until the age of 80. She lived independently until the age of 96. Funeral Mass Wednesday, Nov. 30, 3:30 pm, St. Vincent de Paul, 2375 E. Arizona Ave.
