Eddie Baaske was born on March 8, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Fritz and Inge Baaske.
The family eventually moved to Golden, Colorado. Eddie had a career in Quality Engineering for CoorsTek, Lockhead Martin, and Oatey. He applied his knowledge of quality standards to Ceramics, Aerospace and Plastics. He met his loving wife Kandi while working at CoorsTek. After they were married, they lived in Littleton and Arvada, enjoying all of beautiful Colorado. He lost a 10 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on October 23, 2020 at age 62.
During their 36-years of marriage, they traveled often to Europe, Alaska and Canada. They loved to cruise the Caribbean and met many special people along the way. They spent a lot of time in their Florida home, where they visited good friends and Eddie’s dearest childhood friend (“brother”), ate lots of fish and had fun in the sun and water.
Eddie loved to play and watch all sports and was an avid Bronco’s fan. He also loved to golf, ski, swim and take special weekend trips to the Colorado Mountains.
Eddie was a wonderful, smart, funny, very gracious, caring and compassionate man. He had a contagious smile and a great wit! He was a wonderful husband, loving son and devoted friend. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kandi; his Mother, Inge Baaske; his Mother-in-Law, Mitzi Zellner; his sister, Monica; his two nephews, Brenden and Luke and several members of his family, and great friends. He truly cherished all of the special people who touched his life.

The song lyrics below accurately describe Kandi's message to her husband, Eddie. The song is called, "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley.
When I get where I'm going
On the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly
I'm gonna land beside a lion
And run my fingers through his mane
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain
Yeah, when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah, when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here
I'm gonna walk with my grandaddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
And then I'll hug his neck
Yeah, when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah, when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here
So much pain and so much darkness
In this world we stumble through
All these questions I can't answer
So much work to do
But when I get where I'm going
And I see my Maker's face
I'll stand forever in the light
Of His amazing grace
Yeah when I get where I'm going
Oh when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
Hallelujah
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
Yeah, when I get where I'm going
