It’s with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edna (Jutting) Kaneta. Edna was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 6, 1928 to parents Arnold and Johanna Jutting. She passed away in Thornton, Colorado on March 22, 2022 at the age of 93. Edna was married to Sam Kaneta and together they had 7 children, 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, 2 (soon to be) great-great-grandchildren, and countless others that called her family. Edna’s greatest joy in life was to be with her family, and to know her was to love her. Despite her having a large family, Edna always made time for the people in her life. She never failed to provide support and love for the people around her, and you always knew she would answer the phone when you called.
Edna is survived in death by her son Carl (Jean) Kaneta, son Sam Kaneta, son Edward Kaneta, son George (Melody) Kaneta, daughter Joyce (Bill) Askew, and daughter Johanna (Steve) Palumbo. She is also survived by her dearest friend and sister-in-law, Florence Jutting.
Edna is preceeded in death by her husband Sam Kaneta, daughter Louise Kaneta, and brothers Carl and George Jutting.
In life, Edna was an avid donor and proud supporter of both St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Edna was one of a kind. She will never be forgotten, but will forever be remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
