Edward I. Blincoe

October 2, 1925 — December 17, 2013

Edward I. Blincoe, 88, of Highlands Ranch, passed December 17, 2013. Edward was born on October 2, 1925 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Ernest Edward and Frances Irvine Blincoe. His mother died when he was 10 years old and his loving grandmother, Belle Houston Irvine, filled that void. Ed spent his early years in Fort Scott and Topeka, Kansas. He played varsity football and graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1943. He immediately enlisted in the United States Navy where he became a navy pilot. He started college at the University of Kansas. In 1949, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, and he entered the oil business which became his lifelong career. He enjoyed the mountains, traveling and genealogy. He had a love for his entire family and will be deeply missed by many family and friends. Edward is survived by wife of 64 years, Betty. Children Edward (Susan) O'Brien, Bill (Marti) Blincoe, Melissa Blincoe, Jane (Tim) Coulter. Grandchildren Ted (Amy) Blincoe, Ryan (Amy) O'Brien, Blair Blincoe, Keller Blincoe, Camy Blincoe, Andy Weishahn, Molly Weishahn. Great grandchild Gracie Blincoe. Siblings Robert Blincoe, Elizabeth Flournoy. Nieces and nephews Robert Blincoe, Carl Blincoe, Mark Blincoe, Krissy Bernardin, Richard Simpson, Virginia Simpson, Betty Ann Kuropat, Tom Simpson, Nancy Flournoy, Mary Helen Strohm, Jim Flournoy, Ted Flournoy, Lawrence Flournoy. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Simpson. He was a well loved husband and father. Memorial Service will be held on January 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at VI at Highlands Ranch, 2850 Classic Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
