Edward, 91, passed away December 9, 2020. He was born in Welby, CO and resided in the Denver Metro area his entire life. Edward was President of a large industrial piping supply company. He is survived by his children, Mark (Debi); Andrew (Kathy); Ann (Michael) Rossman, Edward (Julie) and John (Paula); grandchildren, Jeremy, Brian, Lauren, Megan, Kimberly, Michael, Shane, Matthew, Kendra, Isabel, Nicholas and Julia; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, Dominic, Gianna, Charlotte and Peyton. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Inez; son, Michael; sister, Marie; and brothers, Joseph and Eugene.
Ed was born and raised on a small family farm in Welby Colorado. After graduating from high school, he attended Western State College on a football scholarship. About this same time he met his lifetime sweetheart, Inez Landrum, and they soon married. He worked on the family farm for a short time after marriage before beginning a career in the industrial pipe industry. He rose to a position of company president for Grimes Pipe and Supply Company. He was respected in the industry for his integrity and honesty. He was a man who never complained and made every day a good day!
He and Inez began their family in 1951. He was the proud father of six children; five boys and one girl. He worked tirelessly to support and mentor his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ed enjoyed bowling, golf, cooking, and coaching his children in their many sporting events. He was also involved in the Knights of Columbus, Financial Council (Risen Christ Catholic Church), A North Denver Golf Club, American Supply Association, Petroleum Club and Sons of Italy.
Two weeks ago, after a COVID diagnosis and just in time for Christmas, Ed returned to the bride he married over 70 years ago. He was known for making the best Sunday sauce, a whistle that could be heard across the farm, and for sneaking a Fifth Avenue Bar, M and M’s, Cheetos, or a Coors when no one was looking.
He taught us that even if you are married to an angel, small separations (such as running to the store multiple times a day) are the secret to a long and healthy relationship.
He left behind a huge family that takes after his generous heart, stubborn attitude and quiet resilience. He will be missed but we know he was ready to return home. Rest in Peace and give Mom and Mike a kiss for us.
