Edward R. Earley (a.k.a. ""Eddsie,"" ""Daddy-o"" and ""Pop Pop""), will always hold a place in our hearts. He was more than just a father. He was a husband, a brother, a son, a grandfather and friend. Ed will always be remembered as a loving, giving person. He would give you the shirt off his back if he knew it would help you. Whether it was giving his time, his money or his expertise, Ed was always giving to others. Ed had a wonderful sense of humor, with a little sarcasm occasionally thrown in for good measure. Ed was born in Salem, Massachusetts to Edith and Roy Earley. He attended Fryeburg Academy in Maine and later joined the Navy, serving in Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was during his Naval service when he began to exchange letters with Anita Dweleski, who was a hospital roommate with his mother, Edith. Ed and Anita eventually met and were later married on December 28, 1966. It was during the honeymoon that the newlyweds moved to Denver, Colorado and shortly thereafter welcomed their first child, Joseph. A few years later, their daughter Pauline arrived. Ed and Anita enjoyed 39 years together before Anita joined God in 2005. Ed enjoyed a career as a machinist and never lost his love for tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He truly loved planes, trains and automobiles. In his later years, he proudly worked to restore the Georgetown Railroad No. 9 engine. He even lived his childhood fantasy of owning a sportscar. Ed was a very religious person and truly loved God. Despite his cancer diagnosis, he truly believed God would heal him and that he would spend eternity with our Father. Ed was truly at peace knowing that his family and pastor were by his side in his final moments as he went to be home for eternity with God. Ed is survived by his sister Iris, daughter Pauline, son Joseph, daughter-in-law Laura and grandsons Ryan and Aaron. A Funeral service was held on December 10, 2007, and burial was at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 So. Sheridan Blvd, Denver. Donations may be made in Ed's name to the All Veteran Honor Guard, (c/o Waymon Griffin), 1255 Dudley Street, Lakewood, CO 80215 or to the American Cancer Society, 2255 South Oneida Street, Denver, Colorado 80224
