Edward Eugene Feazell

January 29, 1926 — July 13, 2015

Gene was an exceptional man, consummate businessman, devoted family man, and a friend to all. Gene died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday July 13 at the age of 89. He was born on January 29, 1926 to Bertha and Robert Feazell in Little Rock, Arkansas. Gene is proceeded in death by his siblings Bill Feazell and Mary Paprocki Stone, his first wife Rose Feazell, and countless friends and family members from all over the world. He graduated from Arvada High School in 1944. Gene was class president in his Junior year and excelled in several sports. He continued playing softball with the Adult Lutheran League, and was an exceptional bowler and golfer throughout his life. He loved the Denver Broncos. A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 50 years, he volunteered his time and energy to be of service. Gene was also a proud member of the Army Air Force and honorably served his country. Gene worked in the floral industry and managed a freight distribution company. He moved on to the pet industry and was a superstar loved by all. The first person to be inducted into the World Wide Pet Association Hall of Fame in 2014, his family was so proud. Gene married Eleanor Jane Baker on November 2, 1957 and their loving marriage lasted for 51 years. Eleanor passed in 2008. Gene and Eleanor volunteered their time with the Westernaires always believing in young people, giving them the opportunity to learn and grow by working with horses. A true gentlemen, Gene instilled both love and decency in his children. He was the perfect example of what a parent should be. Kind, friendly, funny, and helpful to everyone, Gene had a wide circle of friends. His positive attitude was infectious, and he always made the best of every situation. Edward Eugene Feazell will be missed by all. Gene is survived by his children Robert DeSpain (JoAnn), Pleasant DeSpain, Roger DeSpain, Gregory Feazell (Juleen), Lori Morton-Feazell (Lorraine), and Gary Feazell. He was also a Grandfather of 10 and Great-Grandfather of 11. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and amazing friends. Memorial services will be held on Monday July 20 at 9:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3300 W. Nevada Place with a reception to follow. Gene will then be interned along side Eleanor at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Boulevard at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the animal charity of your choice.
