Edward Lee Foard

August 14, 1936 — May 4, 2009

Edward L. Foard, 72, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away on May 4, 2009. Husband of Reda; father of Craig Foard, Sherra (Chris) Tanner; grandfather of Ryan and Alex Tanner; and brother of Sherra Do (Don) Kothe. He graduated from Poplar Bluff (MO) High School in 1954 and the University of Missouri in 1959 with a degree in Cartography. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Edward served 2 years in The U.S. Army. His career in Retail Management spanned 33 years with Montgomery Ward in numerous locations, 1978-1994 as Store Manager in Greely, CO. Upon retirement, he relocated to Glen Haven and worked as a realtor in the Estes Park, CO area for four years then enjoying seasonal work in the Rocky Mountain National Park Nature Association. He was an avid fan of college football and basketball (especially the Mizzou Tigers) and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Also enjoyed world geography and travel, European stamp collecting, participating in cultural exchanges with Friendship Force, Int'l., and being a member of the Lions Club in Greeley were he served as President. Ed will be remembered by a host of friends for his wit and jovial personality. Most recently, he and his wife have enjoyed friendships and involvement in numerous activities within the Broomfield Del Webb Community. Memorial Service, Friday, May 8, 2:00PM, First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, 1820 15th Street, Boulder. Memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mountain Nature Association, Hospice Care of Broomfield, and American Cancer Society.
