Edward Jeffords, 83 of Centennial, passed away on April 5 surrounded by his adoring family. Ed graduated from St. Ambrose College. He was a tough drill instructor in the Army during the Korean War, but was tender with the love of his life, Vera. They were married for 54 years and had five children together. Ed spent his professional years working in the telecommunications industry, and upon his retirement, discovered a passion in serving the homeless and contributed significant time and talent to the Samaritan House in downtown Denver. Ed was an active parishoner of St. Thomas More Church since 1981, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He loved to travel, cruising many parts of the world alongside his wife. Ed's passion for travel was matched by his love of golf, which he enjoyed with his sons and friends. He was known for his quick wit, and his devotion to his family and Catholic faith. Ed is survived by his loving wife, his five children, their spouses, and thirteen grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 10, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 South Quebec Street, Centennial 80112. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Thomas More Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org).
