Ed Johnson (53), also known by many as Dea Johnson, died on Saturday, April 30th in his home in Evergreen, Colorado. Ed attended Colorado Academy and Fountain Valley High School and graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in 1980 with a BA degree in History. Ed played Lacrosse in his high school years and later served as friend, mentor and head coach for the Arapahoe High School Girl's Lacrosse team for several years. Ed had a passion for cooking and providing great experiences for others. He was the owner and operator of Mountain Cuisine Catering in Evergreen. Ed had a place in his heart for animals especially his Alaskan Husky 'ËDiablo'. Ed is survived by his mother, Marge Johnson, brothers Bruce Matthews, Phil Johnson, David Will Matthews all of Denver and George Febiger of Vancouver, British Columbia and his nephews, David Dufresne, John Matthews, Kevin Matthews, Bradon Matthews, Matt Nation and his niece, Tori Matthews. His is preceded in death by his father David E. A. Johnson and brother, Tom Matthews. A private service will be held for family and close friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Clear Creek County Animal Shelter ('ËCharlie's Place').
