Edward Joseph Kelty

Edward Joseph Kelty, born in Denver on September 27, 1934, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2012. Edward is survived by his wife Emily Joan; his children Jenny (Matthew) Spampinato, Ellen (Tony Chilelli) and John (Julie) Kelty; seven grandchildren; and siblings Paul and David Kelty and Kathleen Hubbard.

A graduate of Denver’s Cathedral High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder, Edward served his country in the Army Corp of Engineers. He had a successful career as a geologist, and retired at age 72 from the US Geological Survey. Edward is well remembered as a man of many hobbies and interests including golf, photography, cycling, sports car driving, hiking, rock collecting, theater, cinema and music.

Edward’s retirement was spent doting on his grandchildren Natalia, Patrick, Brendan, Leanna, Sean, Xander, and Danny; and enjoying the good life with his wife of 52 years, Emily Joan.

Funeral Mass Friday, February 3, 10:00 am at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S Monaco Pkwy, Denver. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities at ccdenver.org.
