Edward ""Ted"" G. LaFrance

Born April 26, 1927 to Edward J. and Lillian La France in NYC, NY. Passed away at age 89 at the Colorado State Veterans' Home on April 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 51 years and their children Richard S. LaFrance (wife Ele) of Kinnelon, NJ; Robert B. LaFrance (wife, Maria) of Clinton, CT and Jennifer L. Hanson (husband, Dale) of Aurora, CO; Grandchildren, Janelle Hanson Barnes and Daniel R. Hanson of Aurora, CO; Alison, Kevin and Darcy LaFrance of Clinton. CT, great grandchildren Chance Barnes, Hope Barnes and his sister, Violet Niclaus of Apopka, FL. Memorial Services and final resting place will be at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, One Del Mar Circle, Aurora, CO 80011. Any donations in his name may be made to St. Stephen or a charity of your choice. Ted worked for his father in the early 1940s delivering Italian Ice Cream to hotels and restaurants in NYC. Joined the Navy and ended up serving in the Coast Guard in 1945. Returned to work with his father among other jobs after WWII in the NYC area as an Italian Ice Cream deliverer, short order cook, tree pruner, garbage and ash collector, snow plow driver and his own Internment business on Long Island, NY. In 1963 he moved to NJ, worked as a plastic injection mold operator, punch press operator and custodian at the Anna C Scott grade school in Leonia, NJ. Retired after 25+ years as an Electric Transmission Switching Operator for P.S.E.& G. of NJ. In 1996 Ted and Ruth moved to in Denver, CO where he continued to be employed part time as a delivery person for a florist and local pharmacy, delivered rental automobiles and was a gate security person at the Colorado Rockies home games. He loved animals and was never without a dog or cat in his home. For several years in the late 1960's and early 1970's he was a commissioner for the Alhtaha Council of Boy Scouts of America, Passaic County, NJ Ted enjoyed driving anywhere, reading westerns, playing golf, pool, cards, board games, fishing and bowling. A member and volunteer at Christ Church, Pompton Plains, NJ; St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Morris Plains, NJ; Christ Church, Hackensack NJ; St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Aurora, CO where he was a member of Brotherhood of St. Andrews, helped with monthly breakfasts at the church, built a model train display, and volunteered in the church office.
