Edward Goodwin Robertson III
10/4/1937 - 9/22/2019

Edward Goodwin Robertson III, Major USAF (RET), 81, died at his cherished mountain home on the last day of summer. Ed was a native of Denver, an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of East High School, the University of Colorado (BS in finance), and the University of Arkansas (MBA in management). Ed served for 20 years as an Officer in the United States Air Force earning many recognitions and awards including two AF Commendation medals with 1 oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Bronze Star and was recognized as an AF Outstanding Supply Officer. His tours of duty were at Edwards AFB, CA; Misawa AFB, Japan; Hanscom Field AFB, MA; TuaHoa, Viet Nam; Wiesbaden AFB, Germany; Zweibrucken AFB, Germany; Headquarters USAFE, Germany; Tinker AFB, OK and Serendipity Ranch in the Colorado Mountains. Following his military retirement, he worked for Lockheed Martin as a senior logistics engineer until multiple sclerosis forced his second retirement.

Ed generously gave his time, talent and treasure to church and community activities, including the Boy Scouts (Scoutmaster, Scouters Award, Commissioner), youth groups, the Logos International Board and horseback riding therapy. He was active in the Officers Christian Fellowship and was a 32nd degree Mason (Scottish Rite). He loved leading Bible studies for adults and high schoolers, singing in choirs, and serving as a deacon and elder in his churches around the world. He enjoyed opening his home for those who needed a safe place to live.

Throughout his adult life, Ed was surrounded by women who were his pride and joy - his wife of 59 years Jean (high school sweetheart), his daughters Cheryl and Deb, and his 2 granddaughters Kim and Sabrina - even though they made it difficult for him to get a word in edgewise. He was also survived by his son-in-law Tom, sister Deb, brother-in-law Craig and Jim, nephews and nieces, and many friends who were loved as family. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Earline and Edward G. Robertson II, his sister-in-law Nancy, his niece Amanda, his favorite horse August Angel and his beloved Labradors. We will miss the twinkle in his blue eyes, his broad smile and his love of puns. He lived a life of honor, duty, and service.

Ed's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at South Suburban Christian Church, 7275 S. Broadway, Littleton, CO followed by a luncheon at the Church. His internment will be Monday, December 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetary, Pavilion A, with full military honors.
