Edward John Schuh

January 9, 1925 — November 14, 2017

Edward J. Schuh, 92, passed away on November 14, 2017. Edward was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He graduated from high school in Kiel, Wisconsin in 1943 at which point he promptly joined the Army. Ed was sent to the University of Wyoming for an Army specialized training program studying basic engineering for 6 months. He was then sent to the European theater of operations fighting in northern France for 17 months. He spent the last 7 months of the war in southern France in the Military Police guarding general prisoners. He was Provost Sergeant and supervised the administration of guard house in Delta Disciplinary Training Center. Ed was honorably discharged April 13, 1946. Ed went back to Laramie to finish his college degree at the University of Wyoming. He married Barbara B. Eastham in Laramie on August 12, 1946 (Barbara passed January 13, 1966). He graduated in 1949 with a Geological Engineering Degree then he and Barbara moved to Denver. Upon moving to Denver he worked in natural gas and oil exploration and development. He retired from the Public Service Company of Colorado. On March 3, 1980 Ed married Helen Ann Sopko. Helen passed August 7, 1999. Ed enjoyed traveling and playing golf. He also liked to fish and hunt, which he passed down through the family. He liked the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, The Rockies Baseball Club, and of course the Denver Broncos. Although he lived in Denver, he always loved talking about his beloved state of Wisconsin and all his family there. Edward is survived by his children Michael Joseph (Loretta K.) Schuh, and Gregory John(Kathrine Adams) Schuh; his grandchildren Benjamin Edward (Josalyn) Schuh, Annette Sue (Gary) Williams; his great-grandchildren Kaleigh Larson, Mirannda Wood, Mya Williams, Allyson Schuh, Michael Schuh, Cody Schuh and Zach Felker. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann (Edwin) Majkrzak, sisters-in-law Angie Schuh, Wanda Schuh, Lucille Schuh and 25 wonderful nieces and nephews in Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Clara (Braun) Schuh, his spouse Helen A. Schuh, and his brothers Henry Jr., Eugene, Gerald, sister Geraldine (Floyd) Thelen and 4 nephews. A Visitation is to be held at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Two O'Clock in the Afternoon. A Recitation of the Rosary to follow at Three O'Clock in the Afternoon. Funeral Mass is to be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 West Milan Avenue, Englewood, Colorado on Monday, December 4, 2017 @ Ten O'Clock in the Morning. Burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
