Edwin C Erisman Jr. (aka Ed, Dad, Regular Papa, Grandpa, Junior, and Fast Eddie), age 79, passed away on November 18, 2023. Ed was a true Colorado native. Born in Denver, he moved with his family to the Merino/Sterling, Colorado area, graduating from Sterling High School in 1962. During his years at Sterling High, he met his wife of 60+ years, Barbara Dickson. Ed and Barbara settled in Westminster, Colorado where they raised their son Terry and daughter Kristi. In 1993, they moved to the house and garages that Ed loved in Broomfield, Colorado where they lived for more than 30 years.
Ed worked as a journeyman weldor/pipefitter, retiring in 2005 from Pipefitters Local 208 after 40 years. In his retirement he enjoyed such things as traveling (visiting more than 35 countries and every state in the U.S.), golfing with his wife, daughter, son, son-in-law and grandchildren at such places as Pebble Beach, Jack’s Point New Zealand and The Plantation Course in Hawaii, fishing with his two grandsons in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico and the Great Lakes, watching his two oldest granddaughters compete in basketball and cheer competitions, and designing the ever-popular scavenger hunt with his youngest granddaughter. As his health declined his enjoyment became the quest for the winning lottery ticket, Blackhawk video poker machines, Costco “to get his steps in”, and a can (or two) of Bud Light at the end of the day.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara, son Terry (Tanya) Erisman, Menlo Park, CA, daughter Kristi (Brian) Thoutt, Berthoud, CO, grandsons Zack (Shelby and soon-to-be great grandson) Thoutt, Boulder, CO, Beau (Priscilla) Thoutt, Westminster, CO, and granddaughters Samantha Erisman, Menlo Park CA, Lexi Thoutt (Carter), Denver, CO and Gabriella Erisman, Menlo Park CA, sister Janice Wiseman, Gillette, WY, sister-in-law Joann (Ken) Fiscus, Sterling, CO, brother-in-law Frank (Ginny) Dickson, Elma, WA, brother-in-law Wes (Ellen) Dickson, Sterling, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
