Eileen Harriet Carlton

Eileen Harriet Carlton, 94, passed away March 28, 2015 in Denver, CO. She was born on a farm near Burdett, KS on June 28, 1920 at home to parents Clarence and Elsie Daughenbaugh. She attended elementary and high schools in Burdett and graduated from Burdett High School. She married Billy John on July 7, 1941. Eileen received a Kansas Teachers State Certificate for teaching in elementary schools. She taught for two years in a one room country school near Larned, KS. Most of her working career was spent as a Dental Assistant in Billy's dental practice. One of her hobbies was golfing and she made several hole-in-ones. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and playing Bridge. Eileen is survived by her sister Faye Fose; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Dr. Billy ""BJ"" Carlton; her parents; brothers Russell, D.D. and Nick Daughenbaugh; and sister Kathryn Martin. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 11, 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO. She will be laid to rest with her husband, BJ, on Saturday May 9, 10:30 AM in the Udall Cemetery, Udall, KS.
